the branded rose bears marks of centuries of being reduced to an inter-human communication tool and a mere carrier for symbolic meaning.

To brand is to identify, assert ownership and communicate. The branded rose has suffered: cultures and kingdoms and teams and companies and movements have branded their ‘unique’ content onto the flower. As a consequence of this repeated action the plant has partially burnt, crumbled and died in the process.
